Hybrid - Pennsylvania preferred The Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence (PCADV) is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Staff Attorney to join our Legal Services team. The Staff Attorney supports PA Safe Law , PCADV's statewide legal helpline and information project serving survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, stalking, dating violence, and other crimes. This position applies legal expertise and effective strategies to support survivors while helping expand access to civil legal services throughout Pennsylvania. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about increasing access to justice and using their legal expertise to support survivors and strengthen legal resources across Pennsylvania. What You'll Do Provide legal information, referrals, and technical assistance through PCADV's Legal Helpline for survivors of domestic violence. Monitor and respond to Legal Helpline inquiries during business hours through phone, email, and chat platforms. Support and participate in divorce clinics, as assigned. Build and maintain partnerships with internal and external colleagues and community partners to increase statewide access to civil legal information, assistance, and representation for crime victims. Participate in the development of public policy legislation, regulations, rules, legal position papers, briefs, and protocols related to domestic violence. Coordinate and facilitate statewide Domestic Violence Attorneys' Network (DVAN) meetings that provide technical assistance, collaboration, and support for attorneys working to expand survivors' access to justice. Develop and contribute to papers, briefs, memoranda, technical assistance materials, and other resources addressing civil and criminal legal issues affecting survivors. Contribute to electronic resources for survivors and civil attorneys, including newsletters, email updates, and website content. Develop and maintain a statewide referral network of legal and community resources, including civil legal aid organizations, domestic violence programs, and other victim service providers. Participate in Legal Services, Program Services, staff, and organizational meetings and training. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Law degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school. Active law license and current eligibility to practice law in Pennsylvania. Minimum of three years of experience practicing law. Thorough knowledge of Pennsylvania civil law and practice related to domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Demonstrated knowledge of protection orders, custody, support and divorce law, child abuse law, privileged communications law, and barriers survivors may encounter when seeking access to and representation in civil courts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when discussing legal issues. Ability to communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with survivors, stakeholders, colleagues, and individuals at various levels of an organization. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to exercise sound judgment, identify problems, and develop workable solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and electronic legal research systems. Willingness and ability to learn new software applications as needed. Because this role requires an active Pennsylvania law license and extensive knowledge of Pennsylvania civil law, candidates must be currently eligible to practice law in Pennsylvania.
