Seeking a Special Counsel to develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and responsiveness. Join a dynamic, growing law firm in South Carolina! We are a well-established and respected law firm based in Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Special Counsel to join our expanding civil defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with strong litigation experience who is passionate about client service and contributing to the strategic growth of a successful law firm. Position Overview The Special Counsel will play a key role in defending complex civil matters, representing clients in state and federal courts, and supporting the firm's continued growth throughout South Carolina. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and collaborative team member with demonstrated leadership abilities. Requirements Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and responsiveness Provide effective legal counsel in the defense of civil disputes in South Carolina Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as mediation and arbitration proceedings Conduct thorough legal research and analysis Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with client goals Collaborate with attorneys across the firm to deliver comprehensive legal solutions Contribute to the growth of the firm and expansion of its presence throughout South Carolina Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Admission to the South Carolina Bar Admission to the Federal District Court of South Carolina (preferred) Minimum of 5-10 years of civil defense experience with a demonstrated track record defending civil matters Excellent analytical, writing, negotiation, and presentation skills Strong leadership, mentorship, and team collaboration abilities Commitment to delivering exceptional client service Benefits We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including: Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance 10 Paid Holidays 401(k) with Employer Contribution Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Free ParkingBenefits
