Job Description

This position is for a criminal defense attorney. The candidate should be a self-starter and highly capable of self-management and direction. This position offers the opportunity to take lead in cases in both General Sessions and Circuit Court. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in litigation and a passion for advocating for clients. Duties:
Advocate for clients in all phases of criminal cases, including hearings and trials. Conduct thorough legal research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of criminal law statutes and case law Work in collaboration with paralegals and support staff to manage cases efficiently and effectively
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in the state of Tennessee Ability to self-regulate and seek guidance when needed Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, with preference given to candidates with prior exposure to criminal law, especially circuit court matters Proven ability to manage a full caseload with attention to detail and deadlines Strong oral advocacy and legal writing abilities Commitment to the zealous defense of clients we serve
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admission to the Tennessee Bar in good standing
Skills:
Experience with Clio case management software preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication Ability to maintain professionalism under pressure Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks Collaborative mindset with a solution-focused approach
