We've partnered with a growing East Tennessee law firm that is actively hiring an Experienced Family Law Attorney to join its team in Clinton, TN. This is an opportunity for an Attorney who is confident managing family-law matters independently and wants meaningful ownership over their practice. The firm is looking for someone who can step in, manage a substantial family-law caseload, represent clients in court, and operate with minimal supervision. For the right Attorney, there is also an opportunity to help shape and grow the firm's family-law division as the practice expands. As a Family Law Attorney, you will handle a broad range of domestic-relations matters from initial client consultation through resolution. Your practice will include matters involving: Divorce & contested divorce, Child custody & parenting-time disputes, Alimony/spousal support, Related domestic-relations litigation, Property division. You will be expected to take ownership of your matters, develop case strategy, communicate directly with clients, and represent clients in hearings, negotiations, mediations and trials. The role offers considerable autonomy and is particularly well suited to an Attorney who is already comfortable managing family-law matters independently rather than looking for a highly structured mentorship environment.

What You'll DoManage an independent caseload of approximately 25-50+ assigned family-law matters, depending on experience and case mixMeet with clients, assess legal issues and develop case strategyHandle family-law matters from intake through resolutionDraft and argue motions, pleadings and other litigation documentsPrepare for and conduct hearings and trialsPrepare for, take and defend depositions where appropriateConduct legal research and analyse complex family-law issuesPrepare and respond to discoveryNegotiate settlements and agreementsAdvise and counsel clients throughout their mattersMaintain timely, professional communication with clientsManage deadlines, case files and competing prioritiesWork collaboratively with Attorneys and support staffMaintain the firm's standards of professional, ethical and client-focused advocacyWhat They're Looking ForA J.D. from an accredited law schoolAn active Tennessee law licence in good standing, or the ability to obtain Tennessee admission within a reasonable timeframeDemonstrated experience handling family-law litigationStrong courtroom advocacy experienceExperience independently managing family-law mattersExperience drafting and arguing motionsExperience with discovery and depositionsStrong negotiation and settlement skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesStrong client counselling and conflict-resolution skillsThe ability to manage a substantial caseload without requiring day-to-day mentorshipSound judgment, professionalism and strong organisational skillsThe firm is particularly interested in Attorneys who can step in and take ownership of their matters immediately.

Compensation & StructureBase Salary:

$75,000-$120,000, depending on experience and overall value brought to the practice.

Individual and/or firm-based performance bonuses. Potential commission opportunities.

The firm is open to discussing either: a 30 billable-hours-per-week structure, and/or a more caseload-based arrangement, depending on the Attorney's preferred billing model and practice structure.
