Job Description

The Senior Wealth Advisor serves as the primary relationship manager for high-value and complex client relationships, delivering comprehensive, goals-based financial planning and wealth management solutions. This role combines advanced financial planning expertise with proactive business development, relationship management, strategic judgment, and high standard of client service. The Senior Wealth Advisor partners closely with internal specialist and external referral partners to help clients build, grow, and protect their wealth through tax-aware investment strategies aligned with their long-term objectives. This role is accountable for developing and maintaining strong client relationships, converting prospective clients into long-term relationships, mentoring less experienced advisors, and consistently executing the firm's client service and planning standards. Success in this role requires professionalism, ownership, collaboration, leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Senior Wealth Advisors are expected to lead by example, demonstrate strong business development results, and contribute to the growth and reputation of the firm.
Core Responsibilities:
Advanced Client Relationship & Advisory Serve as lead advisor and primary relationship manager for high-value and complex client relationships Deliver advanced financial planning strategies across retirement, investments, tax, insurance, and estate planning consideration Develop a deep understanding of client goals, priorities, and financial circumstances to provide personalized planning guidance Proactively anticipate client needs and provide strategic guidance during life events, market transitions and evolving financial situations Conduct client review meetings and ongoing plan updates to ensure financial plans remain aligned with client objective and long-term goals. Maintain consistent, proactive engagement across assigned client relationships while delivering a high standard of responsiveness, professionalism, and client service. Lead by example through strong relationship management, accountability, and adherence to firm standards. Provide mentorship and support to less experienced advisors and contribute to a collaborate team environment. Financial Planning & Wealth Management Cetera Job Description Develop and maintain comprehensive financial plans for high-value and complex client relationships covering retirement, investment, tax-aware strategies, insurance, and estate considerations Utilize approved planning tools and firm resources to deliver accurate, timely, and strategic financial planning recommendations aligned with client objective Provide guidance on complex and time-sensitive planning needs, including retirement income planning, charitable giving strategies, RMDs, and multi-generational planning considerations Review portfolio activity, financial plans, and evolving client circumstances to identify risks, opportunities, and planning consideration Ensure financial plans remain current, comprehensive, and aligned with client objectives and long-term goals Business Development & Leadership Generate new client opportunities through referrals, centers of influence, personal networking, and community engagement Convert prospective clients into long-term client relationships using established discovery and planning processes Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, referral partners, and centers of influence to support long-term business growth Contribute to asset growth through client retention, asset consolidation, and net new asset acquisition Lead by example through proactive business development activity, relationship management, and consistent execution of firm standards Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to less-experienced advisors and contribute to a collaborative team environment Participate in firm initiatives, educational events, and business development activities that support the growth and reputation of the firm Collaboration & Oversight Collaborate closely with internal teams including client service, tax, investment, trading, and operations to deliver a coordinated and consistent client experience Lead planning, preparation, and execution of client review meetings, follow-up items, and ongoing service requests for assigned relationships Coordinate account opening, documentation, and complex service requests in a timely and accurate manner Maintain accurate, timely, and complete CRM documentation, including client notes, tasks, opportunities, and lead status Follow and reinforce established firm workflows, service standards, and operational procedures Support less-experienced advisors through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and mentorship Compliance & Professional Development Strategic & Operational Excellence Adhere to all firm policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Maintain current knowledge of market trends, financial planning strategies, and industry regulations Complete required continuing education, training, and licensing requirements Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and commitment to continuous learning and development. Lead by example in maintaining high standards of client service, operational discipline, and compliance practice
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of financial planning, investment, and wealth management strategies Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, firm policies, and compliance standards • Strong leadership, influence, and relationship-building skills Ability to manage complex client scenarios, competing priorities, and sensitive client situations with professionalism and sound judgment Proficiency with financial planning tools, CRM systems, and business applications Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities, follow through on commitments, and maintain attention to detail Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based service model and contribute to mentorship and advisor development CFP® certification required
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience working with high-net-worth and complex client relationships Demonstrated success in business development, client retention, and asset growth Existing professional referral relationships and centers of influence Advanced tax-aware, retirement, estate, and multi-generational planning strategies Experience mentoring or supporting less-experienced advisors within a collaborative team environment Demonstrated track record of business development and client retention
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field or equivalent. A minimum of 8+ years of experience in wealth management or financial advisory roles FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or 65/63 combo) if dual registered Series 65 (RIA only) Insurance licenses (Life, Health, Long-Term Care), as applicable but preferred
Travel Requirements:
Located outside of market - up to 50%; located inside market - up to 25%
