Responsibilities Manage a caseload of medical insurance defense matters, including personal injury claims, coverage disputes, etc. Conduct thorough legal research using tools like LexisNexis to support case strategies. Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity. Review and understand medical records and summaries.- MUST Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case theories, and coordinating depositions of witnesses and experts. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel while maintaining the best interests of your clients. Represent clients in court depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings with confident advocacy. Collaborate with clients to provide clear legal counsel on procedural law, statutory regulations, and compliance requirements related to medical insurance claims. Skills Extensive knowledge of personal injury law, general & commercial litigation, employment law, insurance law and procedures, procedural law. Proven experience in legal negotiation, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy. Strong research skills utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development. Ability to draft detailed contracts, motions, pleadings, and legal correspondence effectively. Familiarity with medical insurance practices including coverage analysis, billing disputes, and regulatory compliance. Excellent client communication skills to explain complex legal concepts clearly and professionally. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases efficiently within a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Requirements Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Tennessee Must be willing to move and live in Knoxville, Tennessee. Must be willing to work in the office in a team environment.
