The Head of Intellectual Property (IP) leads ADAMA's global IP strategy, overseeing the identification, protection, and optimization of intellectual assets to support innovation, business growth, and competitive advantage. The role leads a global team of IP professionals, serves as a key advisor on IP matters, and is a member of the Portfolio & Innovation Leadership Team, reporting to the EVP Portfolio & Innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

Establishing IP Strategies & Tactics Develop and drive a proactive IP approach by CSS as well as by Development Project, ensuring alignment with business priorities, innovation objectives, and long-term value creation. Work closely with key global and local stakeholders, especially Sectors, Formulation R D, Chemical R D, Product Biology and other relevant functions, to determine when and how to expand and protect ADAMA's Freedom to Operate (FTO). Develop and implement patent, enforcement, and infringement avoidance strategies & tactics to strengthen ADAMA's competitive position and support business growth. Driving IP Implementation Advise managers and business leaders on IP matters, providing practical and strategic guidance across a broad range of intellectual property issues, support commercial decisions including M&As and IP transactions. Verify Freedom to Operate (FTO) and support business, R D, and commercial decisions through IP-related assessments and recommendations. Prepare various IP opinions, including patentability, validity, infringement, and FTO analyses, as required to support business objectives. Manage the submission, prosecution, and follow-up of patent applications globally, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel. Identify, evaluate, and document valuable IP created within ADAMA, ensuring appropriate protection of innovation and know-how. Procure IP rights through the filing and prosecution of patent and design applications across multiple jurisdictions worldwide. Manage ADAMA's global patent portfolio and lead efforts to defend against challenges to the validity or scope of ADAMA's IP rights. Manage the IP budget and develop, evaluate, and continuously improve processes, systems, and other tools supporting the effective execution of ADAMA's global IP strategy. Lead, coach, and develop a team of IP professionals and support staff, including setting goals and responsibilities, establishing and tracking KPIs and other performance evaluation systems, and providing ongoing feedback, coaching, and mentorship. Role:

Master's degree in Chemistry - mandatory, Ph.D. an advantage At least 10 years of experience as a patent attorney - mandatory Proven track record of leading, coaching, and developing global teams of IP professionals across multiple locations Experience in preparing various IP opinions, including patentability, validity, infringement, and FTO analyses, as required to support business objectives. Experience in drafting, prosecution, and follow-up of patent applications Legal background - strong advantage A thorough knowledge of patent law in the main IP jurisdictions around the world (e.g., Europe, U.S., and China). Up-to-date knowledge of IP strategies, trends, developments, and practices and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about IP rights management. Team player and ability to work with multiple teams and interfaces Drive enterprise-wide alignment and decision-making across global functions, businesses, and regions, balancing local needs with enterprise priorities. Champion large-scale transformation initiatives, simplifying governance, accelerating change adoption, and ensuring long-term organizational impact. Build and leverage strategic relationships across the enterprise and external ecosystem to create business value and reinforce an ADAMA-first mindset.
