Associate General Counsel - Real Estate Our client is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its legal team at its corporate office in West Fort Worth. Job Summary The Associate General Counsel will manage a broad range of real estate transactions and general corporate matters for the company and its affiliates, including a homebuilding company, real estate development company, and portfolio of multifamily properties. The position will work directly with company leadership to structure, negotiate, and facilitate business transactions from inception through closing. Responsibilities will include land acquisitions, lot purchases, development-related matters, commercial contracts, title and survey review, closings, customer disputes, and other general corporate legal matters. Responsibilities Manage real estate transactions from initial contract through closing and post-closing. Draft, review, and negotiate real estate acquisition agreements, lot purchase agreements, and related transaction documents. Conduct title due diligence, including review and analysis of title commitments, exception documents, surveys, and closing requirements. Advise on title, survey, due diligence, entitlement, closing, and development-related matters. Coordinate with lenders, title companies, outside counsel, internal teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth and timely closings. Counsel management on day-to-day business operations, contracts, risk management, customer matters, development projects, and other legal issues. Draft, review, and negotiate service agreements, supplier and vendor contracts, and other commercial agreements. Conduct legal research and analysis on a variety of corporate and real estate matters. Represent the company professionally with third parties, business partners, and other external stakeholders. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas. 5-12+ years of legal experience, preferably with a strong law firm foundation. Real estate transactional experience required. Experience involving land acquisition, land development, homebuilding, commercial real estate, construction, or a closely related practice strongly preferred. Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and transaction-management skills. Professional demeanor and executive presence. Compensation & Benefits The company is considering candidates across a wide range of experience levels and may hire one or two attorneys depending on the talent identified. Accordingly, a formal salary range has not been established. A competitive total compensation package will be offered commensurate with experience, qualifications, and the scope and level of the position.
