Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are a boutique Medical Malpractice Defense firm seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join our legal team. We have a litigation practice which focuses on the representation of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and a wide range of healthcare providers. We also have a general civil docket which includes trucking and hospitality cases. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is interested in healthcare to work and learn in a collaborative environment. Duties:
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and agreements
  • Assist with case management and preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and arguments
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Review and analyze legal documents, such as contracts and agreements
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact client cases
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Texas Law License is recommended but exceptional candidates who have yet to take the bar will be considered
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Lexis-Nexis or other legal research tools
  • Experience in legal drafting and document review
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
