Job Description

ATTORNEY

Mid-Level Litigation Associate - Mechanical (Reston) Finnegan's mechanical practice group is seeking a mid-level litigation associate in any of our U.S. offices. Successful candidates must have 4-6 years of substantial patent litigation experience, including developing case strategy, managing fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, preparing witnesses, developing validity and invalidity contentions, and supporting trial teams. Experience in the mechanical arts combined with knowledge of computer technology, coding, and signal processing is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical abilities, sound judgment, and outstanding written and oral advocacy skills. Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field required. Finnegan's litigation practice covers all aspects of IP-related disputes, from complex patent litigation and appeals to high-profile trademark disputes. Our 230+ experienced litigators have handled hundreds of cases at all stages of litigation before courts and government agencies across the United States and in Germany and the UK. In the last five years, Finnegan has represented clients in more than 200 appeals at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The base annual pay range for this role is between $310,000 - $390,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
