Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Community Associations & Collections Attorney to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
Communicate regularly with Community Associations and Management on a regular basis Counsel associations on compliance, governance, procedural, substantive, enforcement, and dispute resolution Interpret governing documents and applicable laws and regulations regarding rights and responsibilities Review and revise condominium instruments, bylaws, governing documents Prepare contracts, document amendments, policies and procedures and guide development and implementation Counseling on corporate governance compliance, attend and advise at board meetings of the association Assist Community Associations in collections matters on behalf of the associations Appear in court for hearings on collections matters Conduct legal research Prepare cases for trial, including strategy development, witness preparation, and exhibit organization
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Licensed to practice law in Virginia 2+ years of experience practicing Community Associations and Collections is required Strong research, writing, and organizational skills Comfortable communicating with clients during emotional or stressful situations
