Your Mission As a Trial Attorney, you will take primary responsibility for litigating personal injury cases in Virginia and, where licensed, West Virginia courts. Our values guide everything we do: Client Always Caring and Integrity Collaboration Continuous Improvement Responsibilities Trial & Litigation Serve as primary trial counsel for personal injury cases, managing litigation from filing through verdict or settlement. Prepare and argue motions, pleadings, and discovery in Virginia courts and, where applicable, West Virginia courts. Conduct depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials with exceptional preparation and professionalism. Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel. Collaborate with investigators, accident reconstruction experts, medical providers, and expert witnesses to build compelling cases. Case Management & Client Advocacy Manage a caseload of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and other negligence claims. Provide proactive, compassionate communication to clients while guiding them through the litigation process. Ensure all matters are handled efficiently, ethically, and in accordance with firm standards. Work closely with paralegals and legal assistants to maintain case momentum and exceptional client service. Team Collaboration Partner with attorneys and leadership across the firm to develop litigation strategies. Mentor junior legal staff as appropriate and contribute to a collaborative team environment. Participate in professional networking and community events that support the firm's reputation and relationships. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Active Virginia Bar license required. Minimum of 4 years of personal injury litigation experience with demonstrated trial success. Strong knowledge of Virginia civil procedure and litigation practices. Excellent courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and case management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for court appearances. Preferred Licensed in West Virginia and/or Maryland. Experience handling cases in multiple jurisdictions. Established relationships within the Virginia and/or West Virginia legal community.
