Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented CR Processor for a temp-to-hire legal support opportunity in Novato, CA. This role is ideal for a bilingual English and Spanish professional with 1-2 years of legal experience who enjoys document preparation, client communication, deadline-driven work, and high-volume case processing. The CR Processor will support the preparation, review, routing, execution, and tracking of Compromise and Release documents for active and bankrupt defendant matters. This position offers the opportunity to work in a professional legal environment with a collaborative team, supportive leadership, and meaningful hands-on experience in legal document processing. Candidates who are organized, accurate, comfortable speaking with clients, and able to manage multiple priorities will be well positioned for success. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Compromise and Release documents using firm boilerplate releases or defendant-provided releases, making required adjustments when an active LHWCA case exists.
  • Send documents to clients through DocuSign or mail, review returned releases for complete execution, and follow up with clients as needed.
  • Add and organize required supporting documents, including Request for Dismissal, exposure and medical information forms, non-Medicare eligibility forms, and Successor-In-Interest declarations when applicable.
  • Process releases for bankrupt defendant matters, including reviewing, adjusting, uploading fully executed releases to trust websites, and mailing documents when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate internal logs throughout each stage of the release process.
  • Communicate with clients by phone to answer questions regarding releases, Medicare eligibility, and outstanding document returns. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Prepare, revise, process, and track Compromise and Release documents for active and bankrupt defendant matters.
  • Coordinate document execution through DocuSign and mail while ensuring all required signatures and forms are complete.
  • Communicate with clients regarding document status, release questions, and Medicare eligibility information.
  • Maintain accurate internal logging and support high-volume legal document workflows.
  • 1-2 years of legal experience required.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, including the ability to read, write, and translate documents.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients by phone in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Excellent computer skills, including comfort working with electronic documents and online systems.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, collaborate with a team, and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Familiarity with legal forms, release documents, client files, and confidential information handling. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DocuSign or similar electronic signature platforms.
  • Experience supporting litigation, workers' compensation, asbestos, trust, settlement, or release processing matters.
  • Familiarity with LHWCA-related documentation or legal case management systems.
