This role is responsible for managing and coordinating the appeals process for legal matters, ensuring all documentation, filings, and deadlines are handled accurately and efficiently. You will work closely with attorneys, clients, courts, and administrative staff to prepare appeal packages, maintain case files, and support litigation efforts throughout the appellate process. Essential Responsibilities Prepare, review, and process appeal documents in accordance with court rules and deadlines. Monitor appeal timelines and maintain an accurate calendar of filing deadlines. Coordinate with attorneys to gather supporting documentation and legal records. Draft correspondence, legal forms, and other appellate-related documents. File appeals electronically and through appropriate court systems. Maintain organized and confidential case files and documentation. Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties regarding appeal status and required information. Review records for completeness and identify missing or outstanding documentation. Track case progress and provide regular status updates to attorneys and management. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local court rules and firm procedures. Assist with administrative and legal support duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of experience in a law firm, legal services, or appeals-related environment . Experience with electronic court filing (e-filing) systems. Knowledge of appellate procedures, legal terminology, and court filing processes is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and staff. Preferred Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Effective time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
