Description Job Description We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Litigation & Operations Legal Specialist to join our team based out of our corporate offices in Frisco, TX. The successful candidate will support the Company's legal department across a broad range of litigation, regulatory, and legal operations matters, including litigation intake, litigation management, law enforcement subpoenas, inquiries from the field, regulatory inquiries, consumer group inquiries, small claims matters, legislative tracking, bankruptcy matters, and assisting outside counsel and internal legal staff with advancing cases. This role has become available due to an expansion of the team. The selected candidate will work closely with two existing Litigation & Operations Legal Specialists, as well as other members of the Legal Department, who will be actively involved in training, mentoring, and supporting the selected individual. This is a strong opportunity for someone to learn directly from experienced team members, build deep institutional knowledge, and contribute to an established, and actively growing, legal operations function. Key Responsibilities Litigation Support Intake, monitor, and track new litigation cases. Manage the active litigation docket, including small claims and eviction matters Process service of process and assign litigation matters to in-house and outside counsel as appropriate Assist in compiling responses to discovery requests, subpoenas, government inquiries, and regulatory investigations Support internal investigations, including timeline development and data analysis Coordinate with IT and business units to collect electronically stored information (ESI) for discovery and regulatory matters Serve as internal liaison between outside counsel, business units, and the legal team for fact collection, document production, and discovery coordination Legal Compliance Provide legal compliance guidance to field operations and commercial real estate teams on various matters, including delinquent accounts, property management issues, and operations policies Assist with tracking legislative and regulatory developments impacting Company operations. Support responses to regulatory inquiries, customer escalations, and internal compliance questions. Legal Operations Support the intake, assignment, and tracking of legal matters across internal systems. Maintain and update matter management systems, including opening matters, tracking status, managing budgets, and reporting on outcomes Respond to inquiries from the field relating to Legal matters and escalate internally as needed. Assist with process improvements, reporting, and coordination across Legal, Field Operations, IT, and other business teams. Qualification Qualifications Bachelor's degree and ABA-approved paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training required, with at least 5 years of relevant experience Thorough working knowledge of, and advanced aptitude in using, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Microsoft Word, and corporate legal databases such as CounselLink, CSC, ServiceNow (or similar ticketing/matter management systems), Westlaw, PACER, Docuware, and Yardi with the ability to learn new applications and programs Excellent communication skills Must be detail-oriented and highly organized Must be a self-starter and possess strong multi-tasking skills Must be able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Enthusiasm for being part of a growing, collaborative legal team Additional Information Workplace One of our values pillars is to work as One Team and we believe that there is no replacement for in-person collaboration but understand the value of some flexibility.
