Job Description
Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Administrator to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Legal Department, providing comprehensive administrative and operational assistance to attorneys and ensuring the efficient handling of legal and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in legal processes, strong organizational skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver advanced administrative support to attorneys, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and handling correspondence.
- Prepare, format, and oversee legal and contractual documents such as litigation holds, demand letters, and cease-and-desist communications.
- Conduct legal and business research, including bankruptcy inquiries, and assist with drafting claims and related filings.
- Track and coordinate compliance activities, ensuring timely completion of anti-corruption training for employees and vendors.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems to support efficient legal operations.
- Manage vendor and third-party verification processes, including documentation reviews and reporting updates.
- Process and monitor legal invoices using legal management tools, ensuring compliance with internal protocols.
- Assist with insurance-related tasks, including reviewing documents and coordinating certificates of insurance.
- Facilitate vendor onboarding and ensure adherence to required business procedures.
- Monitor vendor compliance with service agreements and escalate issues when necessary. Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software; familiarity with legal research tools and case management systems is advantageous.
- Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of Spanish considered a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a strong capacity to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft clear and precise legal documents.
- High attention to detail and accuracy to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a legal department, ideally within a corporate environment.
