Job Description

Strategic Analysis, Inc (SA) is seeking a versatile, skilled Legal Analyst to support the Office of Secretary of Defense, Strategic Capabilities Office (SCO) to assist with review, documentation and preparation of legal documents. Legal support and services to SCO General Counsel (GC) for all legal matters in support of the SCO mission and assistance to GC in the implementation of SCO's Ethics program (Standards of Conduct).
Responsibilities include:
  • Perform legal research and writing in support of GC.
  • Assist with document and correspondence preparation and review in support of GC.
  • Assist with correspondence control (in-take/outtake) and the routing of correspondence in support of GC.
  • Assist with all phases of SCO's ethics program regarding matters such as financial disclosure reports, ethics inquiries from SCO personnel, and preparing drafts of routine ethics documents.
  • Assist with development of training materials, briefings, and instructional materials in support of GC.
  • Provide Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) support, litigation support, and protest support to GC.
Required Qualifications:
  • Excellent time management, multi-tasking skills, and attention to detail.
  • Professional competence and specialized knowledge base that is maintained by keeping abreast of emerging themes and bestpractices.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality oral and written work product based on knowledge of federal and state court system, legal research procedures, and legal research resources and tools.
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills with the knowledge and skills to interact with senior executive management officials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must be knowledgeable user of DoD office and network environment, including but not limited to, databases (i.
e., CATMS, SAM.gov, etc.) and telecommunications systems (i.e., SVTC orTSVTC set up, etc.).
Place of Performance:
  • Primarily, the work will take place at SCO's headquarters in Chantilly, VA, with intermittent situational telework eligibility.
  • Travel is not currently anticipated for this position but as mission dictates, may arise on an ad hoc basis not to exceed 10% of the time.
Education:
Law degree or 3 years of experience performing advanced paralegal work for Federal Government.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen and must possess a current DoD TS/SCI clearance.
