Denver, Colorado Position Objective The Asset Protection Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day facility security, safety, and loss prevention operations with direct accountability for execution, performance, and budget oversight. This role serves as a critical escalation point for security and safety events and requires after-hours availability to support business continuity. This position partners cross-functionally across the company to proactively mitigate risk, strengthen internal controls, and build a disciplined, prevention-focused culture. The ideal candidate brings both tactical execution and strategic insight, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, highly regulated retail environment. Essential Functions Safety & Loss Prevention (70%) Support asset protection, security, surveillance, and loss prevention operations across multiple regions to ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards Monitor, analyze, and report security, shrink, and loss prevention metrics to identify trends, root causes, and actionable opportunities to reduce total business unit shrink Manage physical security controls including access systems, key management, alarm systems, and surveillance infrastructure across all facilities Support Asset Protection Managers with investigations, incident response, and operational oversight, ensuring consistency, thoroughness, and timely resolution Investigate compliance, ethics, fraud, cash variance, and internal/external theft issues; gather evidence, conduct interviews, and prepare detailed, defensible reports Respond to alarms, security incidents, and emergencies, coordinating effectively with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure rapid and appropriate resolution Collaborate with operations and shared services teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risk exposure, and continuously improve loss prevention processes Lead and support operational controls including cash reconciliation, vault audits, SOP adherence, and fraud prevention initiatives to protect financial integrity Develop and deliver training on active threat response, workplace violence prevention, loss prevention strategies, and cash-handling best practices Ensure protection of people, products, property, and high-risk assets while supporting overall business continuity and operational resilience Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and ethical conduct through visible leadership, coaching, and consistent reinforcement of expectations Ensure proper operation of Vireo Health of Rocky Mountain security and surveillance equipment at all locations, maintaining compliance with regulatory and company standards Security Systems & Infrastructure (20%) Remediate security and surveillance equipment failures with urgency, coordinating repairs, upgrades, and vendor support as needed As needed, design and implement security and surveillance systems for new facilities, as well as modify systems to accommodate facility changes or expansions Develop employee training programs addressing active threat response, loss prevention, workplace violence, and proper use and maintenance of security systems Provide threat assessments and risk evaluations to support operational decision-making and proactive mitigation strategies Apply industry best practices and emerging technologies to continuously enhance security and surveillance effectiveness Operational Support & Leadership (10%) Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Loss Prevention within a retail environment, including evolving risks and mitigation strategies Support incident response efforts as needed, including after-hours or escalated situations Perform other duties as required in support of business needs Key Competencies Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth corporate or start-up environment with evolving priorities Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and staying current on industry trends Customer-focused mindset with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive matters Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and partner across all levels of the organization Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Proven ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and execute with discipline and urgency Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with security systems and reporting tools preferred Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Education and Experience Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with state cannabis regulations 3+ years of experience in Loss Prevention and/or Security Management roles with progressive responsibility Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience Demonstrated experience supporting multiple locations as the primary Loss Prevention and Security point of contact Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid Interview certification preferred Experience administering policies and procedures OSHA certification preferred Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-site retail and production environment with both office and field-based responsibilities Regular travel to company locations across Colorado and New Mexico as business needs require Must be able to respond to urgent security matters outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to be on-call and, when necessary, report onsite to address critical incidents, alarms, or operational disruptions Comfortable operating in environments that may require rapid response, sound judgment, and decision-making under pressure Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform site inspections, including standing, walking, and navigating facilities for extended periods Must have reliable transportation Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required Why Choose Vireo?
