Denver, Colorado Position Objective The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for day-to-day asset protection, security, surveillance, safety, and loss prevention operations across multiple regions, with budget accountability for related programs, systems, and resources. This role ensures company facilities; people, products, and assets are protected and maintained in compliance with company standards and state regulations while supporting the evolving needs of the business. The Asset Protection Manager partners closely with operational leaders to mitigate risk, reduce shrink, support investigations and incident response efforts, maintain physical security systems, and strengthen operational controls through proactive loss prevention, fraud prevention, and safety initiatives. Essential Functions Support asset protection, security, surveillance, and loss prevention operations across multiple regions to ensure compliance with state regulations and company standards. Monitor, analyze, and report security, shrink, and loss prevention metrics to identify trends and reduce total business unit shrink. Manage physical security controls including access systems, keys, alarms, and surveillance equipment across all facilities. Support Security Managers with investigations, incident response, and operational oversight. Investigate compliance, ethics, fraud, cash variance, and internal/external theft issues; gather evidence and prepare detailed reports. Respond to alarms, security incidents, and emergencies, coordinating with internal teams and external partners as needed. Collaborate with operations and shared services teams to address security risks and improve loss prevention processes. Lead and support operational controls including cash reconciliation, vault audits, SOP compliance, and fraud prevention initiatives. Develop and deliver training on active threat response, workplace violence prevention, loss prevention, and cash-handling best practices. Ensure protection of people, products, property, and high-risk assets while supporting overall business continuity. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and ethical conduct through strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Ensure proper operation of Vireo Health of Rocky Mountain (VHRM) security and surveillance equipment at all locations. Remediate security and surveillance equipment failures. As needed, design security and surveillance systems for new facilities and alter systems to accommodate facility alterations. Develop employee training programs addressing active threat response, loss prevention, workplace violence, and the proper operation and maintenance of the security and surveillance systems at Company facilities. Provide threat assessments as needed. Apply industry best practices for security and surveillance systems. Full understanding of Loss Prevention in a retail setting. Support incident response efforts, as needed. Performs other duties as required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with security systems and reporting tools preferred Please note that the percentage allocations are a general estimate and may vary based on business needs and priorities. Education and Experience 10+ years of in a Loss Prevention and Security Management roles with progressive responsibility Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Risk Management, or related experience Prior experience supporting multiple locations as the Loss Prevention and Security point of contact Experience administering policies and procedures Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid Interview certification required OSHA certification preferred Working Conditions (Schedule, Environment, Travel) Ability to work in a dynamic, multi-site retail and production environment with both office and field-based responsibilities Regular travel to company locations across Colorado and New Mexico as business needs require Must be able to respond to urgent security matters outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to be on-call and, when necessary, report onsite to address critical incidents, alarms, or operational disruptions Comfortable operating in environments that may require rapid response, sound judgment, and decision making under pressure Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform site inspections, including standing, walking, and navigating facilities for extended periods Must have reliable transportation Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required Why Choose Vireo?
