COO Red Shield Security Washington, DC Job Details Part-time | Full-time | Contract From $18 an hour 9 hours ago Benefits Flexible schedule Qualifications Retail store loss prevention experience Asset Protection Attention to detail Grocery store experience Physical security experience within retail industry Full Job Description Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia | Full-Time & Part-Time | $18.00+ per hour | 1099 Contractor About the Position We are seeking dependable, observant, and professional Loss Prevention Detectives / Store Detectives to support grocery retail locations in the Washington DC , Maryland, and Virginia area. This is primarily a plainclothes/undercover loss prevention position—not a traditional standing security guard assignment. The ideal candidate understands retail loss prevention, can blend naturally into a store environment, maintains continuous observation, communicates effectively with store leadership, and uses sound judgment when responding to suspected theft. Our priority is prevention, professionalism, de-escalation, accurate reporting, and strict adherence to client policies and procedures. What You'll Do As a Loss Prevention Detective, you will: Monitor assigned retail locations for shoplifting, theft, fraud, and suspicious activity. Conduct floor surveillance while maintaining a professional undercover presence. Identify and monitor high-theft departments and merchandise. Maintain continuous observation when investigating suspected shoplifting. Use prevention and deterrence techniques when appropriate. Communicate suspicious activity and incidents to store leadership. Conduct apprehensions only when authorized and when all required elements and procedures have been satisfied. Use sound judgment and de-escalation techniques during customer interactions. Complete clear, accurate, and timely incident reports. Cooperate professionally with store leadership and law enforcement when required. Follow all client, company, safety, and loss-prevention policies. Assist with other asset-protection functions as assigned.
