Job Description

The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the company's assets by implementing and managing strategies aimed at reducing theft, fraud, and operational errors across all business units, including retail operations, donated goods operations, and eCommerce. This role works closely with Human Resources and Safety to audit locations, investigate incidents, and ensure compliance with loss prevention protocols. The Specialist plays a key role in maintaining the organization's profitability by mitigating preventable losses through a combination of surveillance, staff training, and process improvements. This position will assist with the implementation of loss prevention procedures to safeguard company assets, prevent and minimize theft, and reduce shortages and fraud.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education
  • Associate's degree in related field preferred
  • Prior related office experience preferred Experience/ Competencies
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in loss prevention, or a related role
  • Extensive knowledge of loss prevention strategies, retail operations, and investigative procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and documentation Job Duties
  • Conduct regular audits to prevent and/or identify sources of losses (theft, fraud, adherence to company safety policies etc.)
  • Investigate internal and external theft incidents
  • Monitor surveillance/alarm systems and ensure they are functioning properly
  • Develop and implement employee training programs on loss prevention techniques
  • Collaborates with Donated Goods Operations teams to implement and improve loss prevention strategies
  • Reviews data on loss incidents and provides recommendations for preventive measures
  • Prepare reports on effectiveness of established prevention measures
  • Works with management on loss prevention efforts, reporting and ongoing process improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Pay:
$17.00 per hour
