Job Description

Job Summary General PurposeProvides a visible presence at Store entrances and exits, mitigating theft and fraud, and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers. The Specialist greets customers, demonstrates a command presence in a company‑issued vest/black attire, and monitors the Code 50 package inspection policy. Walks the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators, partnering with store leadership to ensure compliance with loss prevention directives and to minimize operational shortage.

Maintaining Safe & Secure EnvironmentPractices safe behaviors and assists store leadership to maintain a safe environment.

Provides visible "command" presence at entrances, exits and the sales floor.

Removes clutter and ensures clear egress to emergency exits.

Developing Great Teams & PartnershipsProvides excellent customer service by greeting customers and answering questions.

Treats all customers and associates with respect.

Regularly involves internal and external partners (e.g., conference calls, district meetings).Performs other duties as assigned to support loss prevention initiatives.

Personal and Store BrandRepresents and supports the company brand and maintains a professional appearance per the dress code.

Mitigating Theft & FraudMonitors entrances, exits and the sales floor for suspicious behavior.

Collects theft indicators and shares intelligence to impact shortage trends.

Executes company best practices to maximize productivity.

Minimizing Operational ShortageIncreases store awareness of effective processes to minimize operational shortage.

Trains and educates associates on shortage reduction initiatives.

Observes proper checkout procedures.

Qualifications and Special SkillsHigh school education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.

One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.

One year loss prevention/security training preferred.

Active security guard license preferred.

Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong communication skills.

Ability to build and maintain relationships with the store team.

Excellent customer service skills.

Proven ability to resolve conflict.

Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations for security positions.

Physical Requirements / ADAConsistent timeliness and regular attendance.

Ability to spend 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.

Can raise or lower objects more than 25 lbs. from one level to another.

Can regularly bend, stoop, or crouch.

Certain assignments may require other qualifications or skills.
