Role:
The Asset Protection & Safety Store Specialist serves as a subject matter expert in asset protection, shrink reduction, safety, security, and investigative processes. This role partners closely with Store Operations and Asset Protection leadership to identify risks, conduct investigations, support compliance initiatives, and help create a safe environment for customers and associates. This position plays a key role in reducing loss, protecting company assets, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring consistent execution of company policies and safety standards.
What You'll Do:
Lead store-level asset protection, shrink reduction, safety, and security programs Conduct internal and external investigations in accordance with company policies and applicable laws Analyze shrink reports, inventory results, incident reports, and exception-based reporting to identify trends and opportunities Monitor physical security systems including CCTV, EAS, alarms, access controls, and other security measures Partner with store leadership to develop action plans that reduce shrink, theft, fraud, and operational risk Coach and train associates and leaders on safety awareness, theft prevention, customer service, and policy compliance Conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews to support safety and asset protection objectives Partner with law enforcement and support court proceedings when necessary Respond to emergency situations and incidents while prioritizing customer and associate safety Maintain accurate documentation, investigation files, incident reports, and case records
What We're Looking For:
Experience in loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, law enforcement, retail security, or a related field Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of shrink reduction strategies, physical security systems, and retail operations Ability to analyze data and identify trends that support operational improvements Strong communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in fast-paced and challenging situations Knowledge of OSHA, safety standards, and compliance requirements preferred
Ideal Background:
Experience in grocery, retail, law enforcement, corporate security, investigations, or asset protection environments is highly valued. Experience conducting investigations, interviewing subjects, reviewing surveillance, and preparing case documentation is preferred.
