Summary:
The Fraud Loss Prevention Specialist supports the development and enhancement of fraud controls across the organization. This role partners closely with internal teams to identify fraud trends, stay current on emerging schemes and regulatory changes, and deliver data driven insights and best practices. The specialist serves as a trusted advisor, provides fraud education and training to staff, supports cross functional initiatives, and helps ensure proactive, effective fraud prevention strategies for both internal teams and members. Experience:
High School Diploma required, Associates degree preferred Minimum one year of financial services, banking and/or fraud prevention experience required Basic understanding of certain regulatory requirements associated with fraud mitigation activities, such as Bank Secrecy Act Local travel up to 25% of time required NYS Drivers license required Strong project management skills, with organization, planning, and follow-through on multi-faceted initiatives Demonstrated capability to effectively manage multiple priorities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate data-driven insights clearly and concisely High attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
Job Responsibilities:
Supports internal teams to help develop, optimize, and document fraud-related controls, processes, and escalation procedures Interviews members and/or employees regarding claims of fraud, take steps to prevent additional losses to members and the credit union Identifies trends related to fraud, compliance, and overall performance, and assist in providing members with timely and actionable recommendations Identify through fraud mitigation activities opportunities to enhance internal policies, procedures, and controls within the enterprise Develops and maintains relationships with various internal departments to collaborate on issues that impact areas outside of Loss Prevention Provides best practices, tailored insights, and dedicated support to teams. Publishes comprehensive blogs on our internal website to keep staff informed of fraud events, trends, issues, etc. Serves as department's liaison keeping leadership informed on department's key issues, strategies and trends Helps develops, implements and trains staff on Fraud trends and best practices Conducts Branch visits to educate staff, observe responsibilities and answer questions Collaborates with marketing teams to deliver fraud education material to our members •Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor Benefits of Joining the

This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law. All candidates will be subject to a background check, credit check, and drug test to determine employment eligibility.
