Seeking a Disability Paralegal to assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of Social Security Disability claims, appeals, and related documentation. Job Overview Seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Social Security Disability Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support in managing Social Security Disability claims, ensuring smooth case progression from intake through resolution. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, legal research capabilities, and a passion for advocacy within the realm of social security law. Duties Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of Social Security Disability claims, appeals, and related documentation Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development Manage case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are accurate, organized, and up-to-date Interview clients to gather detailed case information and document relevant medical and employment histories Draft legal documents including pleadings, correspondence, and summaries with precision and clarity Review medical records, administrative hearing transcripts, and other case materials for accuracy and relevance Coordinate with clients, medical providers, and government agencies to facilitate case progress and gather necessary evidence Skills Proven experience in legal support roles with a focus on Social Security Disability or related fields such as personal injury law or workers' compensation law Strong knowledge of procedural law related to disability claims and administrative hearings Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw, LexisNexis, and PCLaw Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail Skilled in drafting clear and concise legal documents; adept at proofreading and editing for accuracy Effective client communication skills with a professional phone etiquette; capable of interviewing clients thoroughly Familiarity with document review processes, civil litigation support, and legal case management systems such as iManage or Document Management Systems (DMS) Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while adhering to privacy regulations Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for daily administrative tasks Experience with legal administrative tasks including filing, record keeping, and procedural compliance Strong research skills combined with an understanding of various areas of law including estate planning, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, UCC law, patent law, family law, securities law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, general & commercial litigation Join our team if you are passionate about advocating for individuals facing disability challenges!
