We are seeking an organized, professional, and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day administrative operations of a legal office in Alabama. The successful candidate will assist attorneys and other legal professionals with client communication, scheduling appointments, organizing documents, managing correspondence, maintaining files, and handling general office administration. This is a full-time, on-site position for someone who communicates professionally, handles confidential information responsibly, and maintains accurate records in a busy office environment. Key Responsibilities Welcome clients and visitors and direct them appropriately Answer incoming calls and respond to general client inquiries Schedule client consultations, appointments, and meetings Maintain attorney calendars and assist with deadline tracking Create, organize, and maintain physical and electronic client files Prepare routine correspondence and administrative documents Assist with formatting and organizing legal documents under appropriate supervision Scan, copy, file, and securely store documents Enter and update client information in office systems Route legal questions to the appropriate attorney or qualified legal professional Assist with collecting documents and information requested from clients Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence Maintain confidentiality of client and case information Assist attorneys and legal staff with administrative tasks Maintain an organized reception and office environment Follow established office procedures and professional standards Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Associate degree, college coursework, or legal-office training is beneficial but not necessarily required Previous administrative, receptionist, customer service, or legal-office experience is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management abilities Basic proficiency with computers, email, word-processing, and office software Ability to handle confidential information professionally Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and deadlines Professional and courteous attitude when communicating with clients Preferred Skills Previous experience in a law firm, legal department, professional office, administrative-support position, or client-service environment is beneficial. Familiarity with legal terminology, document management, calendar management, Microsoft Office, or legal case-management software would be an advantage. Qualified entry-level candidates with strong administrative and communication skills may also be considered.
