This is more than a traditional litigation paralegal position. What You'll Do As a Litigation Paralegal, you will work closely with attorneys throughout all stages of litigation, from case development and discovery through trial and resolution.
Responsibilities may include:
Litigation & Case Management:
Assist attorneys with managing complex cases, deadlines, pleadings, discovery, records, correspondence, and case files.
Discovery:
Draft and assist with interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admission, responses, and other discovery-related documents.
Trial Preparation:
Organize exhibits, evidence, witness materials, medical records, deposition materials, and other documents necessary for hearings, depositions, mediation, and trial.
Legal Documents:
Assist with drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, subpoenas, chronologies, summaries, and other litigation documents.
Case Investigation:
Assist attorneys in gathering, reviewing, organizing, and analyzing evidence and records necessary to develop each case.
Client Communication:
Maintain professional and compassionate communication with clients throughout the litigation process.
Attorney Support:
Work closely with attorneys to prepare cases strategically and efficiently for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial.
Sensitive Case Management:
Handle highly confidential and emotionally sensitive information with professionalism, discretion, empathy, and sound judgment. What We're Looking For Because of the complex nature of these cases, significant litigation and trial preparation experience is important for this position.
The ideal candidate will have:
A minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in a law firm, with preference given to candidates with more extensive litigation experience Strong litigation and trial preparation experience Experience with personal injury, civil litigation, sexual abuse litigation, trafficking litigation, or other complex plaintiff or defense matters Experience drafting discovery, pleadings, correspondence, and other legal documents Experience preparing attorneys and case materials for depositions, mediation, hearings, and trial Strong investigative, research, and analytical skills Excellent organizational and case management abilities Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with clients who may have experienced significant trauma Sound judgment and an unwavering commitment to confidentiality Ability to remain composed and professional when working with difficult or sensitive subject matter Experience with litigation software and case management systems is a plus Excellent computer and typing skills Most importantly, we are looking for someone who wants to use their legal skills to help people . Work Schedule This is a full-time , Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM .
