A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

SALARY:
$23.00 - $29.00 per hour, DOELOCATION
Bishop, CASCHEDULE

Conduct preliminary interviews with potential clients, gather information, complete intake forms, and enter information accurately into a case management system.Support attorneys with case files, correspondence, legal documents, scheduling, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
Answer and direct calls, greet visitors, provide appropriate referrals, and communicate professionally and respectfully with clients and community members.
Maintain organized case and office files, track important deadlines, coordinate mail and office systems, and assist with day-to-day office operations.
Assist with legal research, follow-up investigations, community outreach, reporting, and other case-related projects as needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or equivalent with 2-3 years of administrative, legal, customer service, or related experience.Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software, databases, and case management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with individuals who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records, manage multiple priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.Ability to regularly communicate by phone and in person.
Ability to occasionally lift and move office supplies and materials.
Ability to work on-site and participate in occasional community outreach events.
