The ideal candidate is capable of managing a high-volume caseload, prioritizing competing deadlines, and thriving in a fast-paced litigation environment. This role works closely with attorneys, paralegals, clients, and outside legal professionals to ensure cases progress efficiently while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and client service. The primary focus of this position includes drafting and responding to discovery, preparing litigation documents and templates, assisting with pleadings and motions, and providing comprehensive support to the litigation team throughout the life of a case. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Draft, propound, and respond to written discovery, including Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, and Requests for Production directed to vehicle manufacturers. Prepare and maintain templates for pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents. Assist attorneys in preparing pleadings, motions to compel, declarations, separate statements, notices, and other court filings. Request, organize, and review repair orders, warranty claim histories, technical service bulletins, recall notices, purchase and lease contracts, and DMV records. Review case files to ensure all necessary documentation is complete, accurate, and organized, including verifying repair visit chronologies and days-out-of-service calculations. Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and litigation staff to meet court deadlines and case milestones. Maintain litigation calendars and monitor deadlines for discovery, hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial-related events. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, experts, dealership service departments, manufacturer representatives, court personnel, and vendors. Assist in preparing exhibits, deposition binders, and other materials for hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trial. Assist with preparing repurchase and restitution calculations, including mileage offset under Civil Code section 1793.2(d). Maintain accurate electronic and physical case files in the firm's case management system. Identify potential issues or missing information and proactively communicate with the litigation team. Perform legal and administrative support duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, preferably in California consumer or lemon law. Strong understanding of California civil litigation procedures and court rules. Experience drafting and responding to written discovery. Experience preparing pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents. Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Experience reviewing dealership repair orders and manufacturer warranty records.
