Job Description

We are looking for a dependable Legal Assistant to support a busy family law practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Legal Assistant role offers at least 20 hours per week and will focus on helping the team stay organized and prepared as family law case activity and court deadlines. This Legal Assistant opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a small firm environment, is detail oriented, and is comfortable providing administrative and legal support. The ideal candidate will have at least 2+ years of experience supporting a litigation or family law team.
Responsibilities:
  • Support attorneys and legal staff with day-to-day administrative and case-related tasks in a high-volume family law practice.
  • Prepare, organize, and submit court filings accurately while tracking deadlines and required documentation.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, schedule hearings and meetings, and help ensure all important dates are monitored closely.
  • Assemble, label, and manage trial materials, including exhibits and supporting case documents.
  • Update and organize case information within case management systems, including Clio, to keep records current and accessible.
  • Handle electronic and physical filing tasks to maintain orderly legal files and documentation.
  • Assist with general office and legal support needs as priorities shift, contributing wherever additional help is required.
  • Coordinate with the legal team to keep matters moving efficiently and support preparation for upcoming court proceedings.
