A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.
Litigation Assist outside and in-house counsel with commercial litigation including intake, filing, litigation holds, case management, deadline tracking, fact collection, document organization, and discovery Communicate with internal departments and vendors/vendor counsel to support timely resolution of legal claims, demand letters, and pre-litigation inquiries Litigation Billing and Budget Maintenance Maintain and update case management and billing database (Serengeti or similar platform) Assist counsel with reserve reporting Compliance Initiatives and Other Projects Support attorneys and paralegals with compliance initiatives and commercial projects Assist with compliance-related research, tracking, and internal procedures Occasional administrative support
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant degree, certificate, or equivalent training and work experience 4+ years of paralegal experience in a law firm and/or corporate legal department Practical knowledge of civil litigation: civil procedure, discovery, document production, confidentiality, privilege, motion practice Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well in a team environment Strong analytical skills Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) We offer competitive health benefits, such as medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
Pay Details:
