Legal Assistant Lawyers for Justice - 4.9 Glendale, CA Job Details Full-time $25 - $30 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Confidential information handling In-person customer service Productivity software Full Job Description Description The Legal Assistant will support attorney(s) and the legal team by providing administrative and clerical support services including, but not limited to, calendar and docket management; drafting and formatting correspondence; organizing and maintaining case files; scheduling client meetings, depositions, and court appearances; answering and directing phone calls; preparing and sending mailings; coordinating travel arrangements; processing expense reports; and assisting with the preparation and filing of legal documents. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is organized, professional, responsible, and committed to helping us meet all our clients' needs Key Responsibilities Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects. Drafts legal documents and file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures. Interviews clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements. Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items. Inputting and updating all legal deadlines, court dates, depositions, hearings, and client meetings into the firm's calendaring system. Calculating and double-checking accurate deadlines based on relevant rules and statutes. Managing conflicts and scheduling adjustments as needed. Develops and maintains records on cases. Organizes, enters, and cross-references documents in a computerized database. Assists attorneys with organizing and carrying out special projects as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum of 3 year of experience.
