We are a busy boutique Personal Injury Law Firm seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team. Personal injury experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly graduated paralegal or legal assistant who is looking to gain hands-on experience in personal injury and bodily injury claims and grow within a law firm. This is also a good opportunity for legal assistants within the legal field looking for something new. This opportunity comes with potential for growth. Spanish Speaking Required - No Exceptions The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently with minimal direction, and willing to learn. Because we regularly communicate with Spanish-speaking clients, bilingual Spanish/English communication skills are required for this position. Responsibilities Gather and organize medical records and medical billing Request, follow up on, and maintain medical records and bills Organize and maintain client files Open bodily injury claims with automobile insurance companies Communicate with insurance companies regarding claims and documentation Scan and organize incoming mail and documents Set-up medical treatment Follow-up with clients regarding medical treatment and appointments Maintain accurate and up-to-date case information Assist with general administrative and case-management tasks Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties Learn and assist with additional personal injury case responsibilities as training progresses Qualifications Fluent Spanish and English - required Personal injury or bodily injury claim experience preferred, but not required Newly graduated paralegals and legal assistants are encouraged to apply Strong organizational and time-management skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently with little direction Strong communication and follow-up skills Comfortable communicating with clients and third parties by phone, email, and in writing Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines Positive attitude and willingness to learn Professional, dependable, and team-oriented What We Offer We are willing to train the right candidate and provide an opportunity to develop practical experience in personal injury law and bodily injury claims.
