Our firm serves persons with disabilities and their families , helping them plan for secure and meaningful futures with care and compassion. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone interested in developing a legal career while gaining hands-on experience in a supportive, mission-driven law firm. About the Role The Legal Administrative Assistant provides administrative and document support to our attorneys, paralegals, and other staff. Responsibilities include answering and routing telephone calls, greeting in-office clients, creating and maintaining legal files, retrieving documents from court websites, proofreading, preparing documents for service by mail, scanning and organizing records, assisting with document management, and providing general office support. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine willingness to learn . Prior law firm experience is helpful but not required. We are prepared to train the right candidate. What You'll Do Client & Office Support Communicate professionally and courteously with clients, attorneys, staff, courts, and other professionals Provide primary telephone and reception support Receive, scan and distribute incoming mail Assist with ordering and maintaining office and legal supplies Perform other administrative and legal support duties Legal File & Document Support Create, organize, and maintain physical and electronic client files Maintain file indexes and client records Retrieve and download documents from court websites Proofread documents for accuracy and completeness Prepare legal documents for service by mail Scan, upload, organize, and maintain documents and correspondence What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Strong work ethic, reliability, curiosity, and eagerness to learn Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a professional environment Ability to follow detailed instructions and established procedures Professional judgment and discretion when handling confidential information Ability to communicate with clients with patience, compassion, and respect Preferred, but Not Required Currently enrolled in a paralegal certificate, associate degree, or similar legal studies program Prior office, administrative, customer service, or law firm experience Experience living, working or volunteering with persons with disabilities Familiarity with legal practice-management software, particularly Clio Notary Public commission or willingness to become a
Notary Public Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay:
$22.00-$26.00 per hour, depending on experience
