Job Description:
Employees First Labor Law is looking for an Experienced Paralegal to join our team. This position is located in our Pasadena office. A successful candidate would have experience working in a fast-paced firm focused on employment litigation matters. Spanish speaker a plus.
Position Responsibilities:
Case Oversight:
Manage and oversee all prelitigation matters, from intake to resolution, ensuring deadlines and priorities are met.
Client Coordination:
Act as a primary point of contact for clients during the prelitigation phase, ensuring regular communication and addressing questions or concerns.
Case Evaluation Support:
Assist attorneys in evaluating potential claims, conducting factual investigations, and organizing evidence.
Demand Letter Preparation:
Draft, review, and finalize comprehensive demand letters summarizing claims and seeking resolution.
Settlement Coordination:
Support attorneys in settlement negotiations by preparing required documentation and facilitating communications with opposing parties.
Documentation Management:
Organize and maintain case files, including employment records, correspondence, and other critical evidence.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with intake specialists, attorneys, and other support staff to ensure a smooth workflow and seamless transition to litigation if necessary.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the prelitigation department.
Compliance and Reporting:
Monitor compliance with legal procedures, deadlines, and ethical standards, providing regular case status updates to attorneys.
Position Requirements:
Paralegal certification (preferred but not necessary); Solid understanding of CA civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules); High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat; Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision; Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills; Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines; and Professional appearance, and warm and friendly demeanor.
