Job Description

Overview We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Part-Time Legal Assistant to support our probate and estate administration practice. In this in-office role, you will work closely with the attorney, assist with client intake, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients as their cases move forward. The ideal candidate is a compassionate communicator who can manage multiple matters, follow through on details, and handle sensitive family and financial information with discretion. Probate experience is preferred but not required; we are willing to train a candidate with strong administrative and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Conduct intake interviews with prospective clients, gather initial information, and follow up on inquiries. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and other parties throughout probate cases, providing updates and helping coordinate next steps. Assist the attorney with preparing and filing documents for probate matters. Help gather and organize information about estate assets and administration. Monitor case deadlines, court hearings, and other important dates. Maintain organized case files, calendars, and records throughout the probate process.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
Prior experience as a legal assistant or in an administrative or client-facing role is preferred. Probate or estate administration experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Technology:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience with Clio or court e-filing systems is a plus.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate is a plus.
Communication and organization:
Strong written and verbal communication, careful proofreading, attention to detail, and the ability to follow up consistently while managing multiple deadlines.
Client service:
A professional, compassionate manner and the ability to handle confidential family and financial information with discretion.
Notary Public:
