A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Busy, fast paced Estate Planning/Elder Law Firm has opening for immediate full time employment for a legal assistant position. Applications should only be submitted online and no attempts at direct contact with the office should be made. Must be on time, energetic, reliable, personable, and able to communicate and coordinate well with others. Duties will include, but are not limited to, answering phones and handling incoming inquiries, handling office dictation and transcription duties, handling incoming and outgoing mail, keeping court calendar, daily client management, billing data entry, preparation of case files and documents, and other general office duties. Will train the right candidate for advancement. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Must be a self-starter, be able to work independently and take initiative to learn and improve his/her abilities. The ability to multi-task is a MUST. Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary experience is required. We need a team player, with a positive attitude, who is wanting to learn all aspects of the profession.
