Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Paralegal to join a small plaintiff-focused law firm supporting both pre-litigation and civil litigation matters in San Diego, California. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can work independently, stay organized, and provide steady support across the life of each case. The role offers a flexible remote schedule with an expected commitment of 20-30 hours per month while partnering closely with attorneys and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee case calendars by tracking key dates, court deadlines, and follow-up items to help matters move forward on schedule.
• Support the discovery process by drafting, organizing, and coordinating materials for requests and responses.
• Prepare service-related documents and arrange for timely delivery of filings and case correspondence.
• Submit routine court filings, including case management conference documents, with accuracy and attention to procedural requirements.
• Organize meetings, hearings, and other case-related appointments while managing invitations and scheduling logistics.
• Communicate with clients to collect case details and documentation needed for discovery and ongoing matter support.
• Request and gather medical records, billing statements, and related materials from healthcare providers.
• Maintain orderly case files and provide day-to-day litigation support to attorneys from intake through resolution. Requirements
• Prior experience in a paralegal role supporting litigation matters is required.
• Background in plaintiff-side personal injury work is preferred, though candidates with broader civil litigation experience are welcome.
• Familiarity with discovery practices, court filings, and litigation calendaring is expected.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling legal documents and deadlines.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and legal team members.
• Experience using case management software and related legal support tools is beneficial.
