We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to support a collaborative legal team serving a major academic and healthcare environment in California. This role offers broad exposure to litigation support, records-related matters, and legal operations while partnering closely with attorneys across a wide range of issues. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, discretion, and comfort with legal technology, along with the ability to manage sensitive information and shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities:

Partner with attorneys on litigation matters by organizing case materials, tracking deadlines, and supporting day-to-day case progress. Assist with subpoena responses, records requests, and related document coordination while helping maintain accuracy and confidentiality. Contribute to discovery efforts by coordinating document collection, review workflows, and production activities across legal matters. Prepare materials for hearings, depositions, and trial-related activities, ensuring files and supporting documents are complete and accessible. Help manage legal holds, e-discovery tools, and case management systems to improve consistency and efficiency in legal operations. Coordinate projects involving university and healthcare stakeholders, keeping communications organized and workstreams moving forward. Handle confidential and sensitive information with a high level of integrity, sound judgment, and discretion. Support the refinement of legal processes and procedures by identifying practical improvements in how matters are tracked and managed. 5+ years of experience in litigation in a law firm or inhouse setting. Demonstrated experience supporting civil litigation and discovery-related work in a legal environment. Strong e-discovery skills. Strong subpoena handling skills. Proficiency with case management platforms, document review systems, or other legal technology tools. Working knowledge of trial preparation, document organization, and litigation support practices. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and internal partners. High level of discretion and reliability when handling confidential or sensitive information. Ability to work independently, show initiative, and adapt to evolving legal and operational needs.
