Job Description

LEGAL ASSISTANT
Position Overview The Legal Assistant plays a key role in supporting attorneys and legal operations by ensuring the efficient management of cases, deadlines, and legal processes. This position is responsible for coordinating litigation support activities, maintaining accurate case records, and facilitating communication across legal and operational teams Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings and court documents.
  • Manage attorney calendars, including docketing hearings, deadlines, and reminders.
  • Conduct basic legal research and gather relevant case information as needed.
  • Review documents for accuracy and compliance with court requirements.
  • Communicate with internal teams and external vendors to obtain documentation and provide updates.
  • Prepare, process, and distribute legal documents via mail and electronic filing systems.
  • Handle phone/email communications and follow-ups with courts, opposing parties, and third parties regarding case matters. Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal support role.
  • Understanding of litigation processes and legal document drafting.
  • Experience with docketing/calendaring and managing deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work with attorneys, paralegals, and cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills
  • Experience with civil litigation, specifically within the Creditor's Rights industry.
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
