A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Position :
Part time to three quarter time Administrative and Family Law Paralegal 25 - 35 hours per week, in-person
Salary:
The starting salary range is $24.00 to $30.00 per hour. Commensurate with experience.

Receiving client payments and assisting with client interactions as directed by LLPs or attorneys. Scheduling attorney/LLP and client meetings. Providing support with legal documents, including redacting discovery documents, electronically filing/sorting documents, and preparing documents. Supporting LLPs and attorneys in their daily operations, including preparing case files for mediation, hearings, and trials. Managing routine tasks with employee benefit plans (healthcare, 401K), coordinating with office accountant. Coordinate and handle arrangements for firm events (e.g. holiday parties, lunches). Coordinating inventory and purchasing of office supplies. Processing office mail. Collaborating with attorneys and LLPs to optimize and document office procedures and support staff as needed. Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related tasks or special projects as needed. Performing other related duties as assigned for ensuring the efficient and effective function of the firm. Drafting and serving discovery Completing financial disclosures, including Sworn Financial Statements.
Interaction with vendors:
Coordinating marking, working with marketing professionals, managing directory listings, collecting and posting client testimonials, making simple website changes in WordPress, coordinating the blog, and managing the social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Monitoring vendor and insurance contracts, alerting managing attorney to any issues and upcoming contract renewals, coordinating with office accountant/managing paralegal. Paralegal:
All of the above, and: Maintaining own family law cases (after probation period) Communicating with clients regarding parenting time, child support, maintenance, property and debt allocation, and other family law matters. Maintaining electronic case file. Drafting pleadings and discovery. Preparing sworn financial statements. Preparing exhibits for trial. Professional demeanor. Integrity, honesty, and accountability. Strong technology skills:
