Firm Overview For over 40 years, WLPP Law has represented homeowners associations, townhome associations, and condominium associations throughout the State of Colorado. We pride ourselves on being a trusted partner for community associations, providing specialized legal expertise tailored to their unique needs. Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Part-Time Legal Assistant to join our specialized HOA law practice. This role is a hybrid of administrative support and specialized legal production, with a focus on creditor-side bankruptcy matters. As a Legal Assistant at WLPP Law, you will serve as the primary backup for our front desk while managing a specific portfolio of bankruptcy filings. This position is ideal for a professional looking for a stable part-time schedule with the potential to evolve into a full-time career opportunity as our operations expand. Key Responsibilities 1. Bankruptcy & Creditor Support You will assist our attorneys in managing litigated and non-litigated bankruptcy case files, specifically representing the interests of the Association as a creditor.
Key tasks include:
Case Management :
Managing portfolios of debtor defaults with a focus on maximizing recovery; performing ownership and title checks to verify the Association's secured interest.Filings & Documentation :
Preparing and filing Entries of Appearance, Proofs of Claim, Objections to Plans, and drafting motions for relief from stay.Monitoring :
Utilizing PACER to track electronic court dockets, identify new bankruptcy filings, and update internal client systems accordingly.Post-Bankruptcy Oversight:
Monitoring post-bankruptcy assessments, preparing repayment agreements for post-petition delinquencies, and filing necessary post-bankruptcy documentation. 2.Communication & Liaison Client Relations:
Acting as a bridge between the firm and our associations, providing status updates and gathering necessary documentation.Professional Correspondence :
Communicating effectively with debtors, trustees, and opposing attorneys to resolve outstanding issues.Negotiation :
Facilitating and documenting payment arrangements for attorney and client approval. 3.Operations and Administrative Support Primary Backup :
Serving as the first point of contact for the firm when the front desk requires coverage.General Support :
Taking inbound calls, directing inquiries, conveying urgent messages, and providing general administrative assistance to the attorney team as assigned.Qualifications Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a legal environment (Real Estate, Collections, or HOA law experience is a major plus).Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with PACER or legal case management software (e.g., PracticeMaster, Tabs3, Clio) is preferred.Bankruptcy Knowledge:
Familiarity with the bankruptcy process and terminology is highly desirable.Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a "customer service" mindset.Language:
Spanish speaking is highly desired.Reliability:
