A Paralegal or Legal Assistant assists attorneys and law offices with a variety of tasks ranging from administrative support to legal research and writing. Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

About us Leading Real Estate Law Firm seeking a Bilingual Legal Assistant to join our team! We are a professional, customer-centric and fast paced firm. If you are a motivated self-starter, able to complete tasks with limited supervision, this is the opportunity for you. Successful Legal Assistants will be detail-oriented, possess good judgment and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Competitive candidates will exhibit excellent time management skills and a high degree of attention to detail.
Duties:
  • Assist Attorneys and Paralegals in preparing legal documents
  • Organize and maintain client files and document management systems
  • Prepare and file legal correspondence
  • Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Prioritize client matters and adapt to sudden changes while remaining diligent
  • Keep clients informed by maintaining contact and communicating status
  • Provide administrative support to Attorneys and Paralegals, such as answering phones and managing emails
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a similar role preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Proficient in using document management systems, legal software, and various MS Office programs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
  • Strong administrative skills, including data entry and phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask and meet multiple, overlapping deadlines Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
