Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support a diverse range of legal practice areas, including immigration law and family law. The ideal candidate will be energized by managing complex legal tasks, conducting thorough research, and providing exceptional administrative support to attorney and clients alike. Duties Assist attorney with case management by organizing and maintaining legal documents using document management systems such as Westlaw. Conduct comprehensive legal research. Draft, review, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings and correspondence with precision and attention to detail. Support litigation processes through document review, discovery management, and civil litigation support activities. Manage client communications professionally via phone and written correspondence; schedule interviews and meetings with clients or witnesses as needed. Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining organized files for multiple cases across different legal disciplines. Utilize legal case management software for billing and case tracking; perform data entry and filing tasks efficiently. Assist in preparing for court proceedings by organizing exhibits, drafting procedural documents, and supporting attorney preparation efforts. Conduct research using Westlaw to gather relevant case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents across family matters and immigration cases. Provide executive administrative support such as calendaring deadlines, managing schedules for attorney, and ensuring timely follow-up on case actions. Experience Proven paralegal or legal assistant experience supporting within a busy law office environment. Strong knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with civil litigation processes. Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed legal research usingWestlaw platforms effectively. Experience with document review, drafting legal correspondence, and managing case files digitally through systems. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management; familiarity with Word processing tools essential. Effective communication skills for client interaction via phone or email; professional etiquette is a must. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in data entry and filing tasks. Knowledge of various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, personal injury law (including personal injury case experience), landlord-tenant issues, immigration law, workers' compensation law, and general litigation is highly desirable. Pay:
$24.62 - $29.65 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
