Job Description

The Work Study student will assist the Office of the General Counsel with research, drafting, and organizational projects that support the College's legal and policy functions. This position is designed for students interested in law, public policy, or higher education administration and provides a unique opportunity to observe and learn about legal practice in a public liberal arts setting. Conduct basic legal, regulatory, and policy research under staff attorney supervision. Summarize statutes, regulations, case law, or policy documents for attorney review. Assist with drafting and editing memoranda, correspondence, and reports. Support the development and organization of training, compliance, and risk management materials. Participate in document review and help maintain organized case and project files. Observe meetings, trainings, or negotiations (as appropriate) to gain insight into the attorney-client relationship in higher education. Perform clerical tasks related to assigned projects, including citation formatting, document preparation, and data entry. Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Must be a current student in good standingeligible for Federal Work Study. Demonstrated interest in law, public policy, or higher education administration. Strong research, writing, and analytical skills. Attention to detail and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WestLaw a plus. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment.
