Maintains and organizes files or file databases. Conducts legal or other background research, assists with preparation for trials or hearings, and drafts documents to be filed. Uses software for electronic discovery of materials such as email for a trial. May specialize in a particular area of the law such as corporate or criminal law, family law or real estate law.

Job Description

Attorney is seeking a Legal Assistant with the capacity to grow to handle some basic and possibly advanced paralegal matters.
Position Overview:
The legal assistant will be required to answer incoming calls in a professional manner and perform a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties, to include but not limited to: monitoring e-mail traffic, maintaining and updating calendars (both physical and Outlook), as well as basic recordkeeping and organization. He/she will format letters, draft legal pleadings, and e-file documents on a variety of platforms. This position will involve working at a desk, on computer keyboard, and sitting for long periods of time. It may also require lifting 5-15 pounds periodically.
What We're Looking For:
Attorney would prefer previous secretarial experience. The successful applicant must be proficient in Microsoft 365 products, Adobe Acrobat, basic technical support/trouble shooting, and be able to type 50 wpm accurately. A positive attitude and willingness to learn are expected. Pay based on experience.
