Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Prelitigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. In this vital role, you will support attorneys by managing case files, conducting legal research, and preparing documentation for upcoming litigation. Your energetic approach and organizational skills will help streamline prelitigation processes, ensuring efficient case progression. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent communication and project management abilities to facilitate smooth case workflows from initial investigation through pre-litigation activities. Responsibilities Assist with case intake procedures by interviewing clients and gathering pertinent information related to ongoing disputes or claims Conduct comprehensive legal research using legal databases to support case development Manage and organize case files using document management systems ensuring all documents are accurate and up-to-date Draft and review legal documents with precision and clarity Support attorneys in preparing for depositions, client meetings, and court appearances by coordinating schedules and compiling relevant case materials Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining strict adherence to privacy policies Perform data entry, filing, and document review tasks efficiently to facilitate smooth case progression across multiple practice areas. Skills Some knowledge of procedural law and experience supporting civil litigation cases. Proficiency in legal research tools. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously under tight deadlines. Skilled in document management systems. Exceptional written communication skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence. Effective client communication abilities coupled with professional phone etiquette. Demonstrated experience in legal administrative support roles with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management. Ability to perform thorough proofreading and ensure error-free legal documentation. Experience with legal writing, legal drafting, and research techniques across various practice areas including. Overall hard work ethic. Ability to work well with others and work in team settings.
