Hourly Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Paralegal to support attorneys with a busy docket of Georgia criminal defense and family law matters.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in an active litigation practice and providing hands-on support to attorneys handling cases throughout Georgia.

Responsibilities:

The Paralegal will assist with both criminal and family law matters, including: Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, notices, affidavits, proposed orders, and other litigation documents. Preparing and organizing documents for filing in Georgia courts. Assisting with discovery requests and responses. Preparing case files and exhibits for hearings and trials. Reviewing court dockets, pleadings, discovery, and case documents. Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties. Monitoring court dates, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, and other important case deadlines. Assisting attorneys with preparation for hearings, motions, mediations, and trials. Providing general litigation and case-management support to attorneys.

Required Qualifications:

Applicants must currently reside in Georgia and within the Atlanta metropolitan area.

The successful candidate should:

Have paralegal or substantial legal-assistant experience. Be comfortable working with Georgia criminal and/or family law cases. Have strong legal drafting skills and be capable of preparing litigation pleadings with limited supervision. Understand basic Georgia court procedures and litigation practices. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be highly organized and able to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously. Have strong interpersonal skills and remain calm under pressure. Be dependable, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced law firm environment. Demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Preferred Experience:

Prior Georgia criminal defense or family law experience is strongly preferred. Experience in both criminal defense and family law is ideal. Hands-on experience drafting motions, discovery, complaints, answers, domestic-relations pleadings, or criminal-defense filings is highly valued.
