- $68,000 a year 6 hours ago Qualifications Westlaw Driver's License Certified Notary Public Legal case management Paralegal Certificate Office experience Full Job Description Transcendens Law is a growing Georgia firm, and our Savannah office works primarily with business owners and companies: corporate and business law, fractional general counsel, franchising, commercial contracts, and business disputes, along with real estate and civil matters.
We are hiring an experienced paralegal to work directly with our attorneys, move matters forward, and produce clean first drafts. This is a hands-on, substantive role for someone who writes well, stays organized under deadlines, and takes ownership of their files. What you will do
- Keep clients informed with regular status updates, under attorney supervision.
- Conduct statutory and case-law research on Westlaw or LexisNexis and support case and deal strategy.
- Draft first versions of contracts, entity and corporate documents, franchise and commercial agreements, demand letters, pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence for attorney review.
- Prepare and respond to discovery in business disputes: interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and document review and organization.
- File documents with the courts electronically and in person, and exchange documents with opposing counsel.
- Track court deadlines, filing dates, closing dates, and statutes of limitation on the firm calendar.
- Open, organize, and maintain case and matter files, and interview clients and witnesses to gather facts.
- Assist with entity formation, corporate filings, and closing binders for business and real estate matters.
- Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trials: exhibits, binders, witness coordination, and deposition scheduling and summaries.
- Proofread, cite-check, and format documents to court rules for signature and filing. What we are looking for
- Paralegal certificate or degree, or equivalent law-office experience. Georgia does not license paralegals, so strong experienced candidates without a degree are welcome. NALA CP or NFPA certification is a plus.
- Two or more years of paralegal experience preferred. Business, corporate, franchise, or commercial litigation experience is a strong plus.
- Excellent legal writing and precise attention to detail and deadlines.
- Comfortable with practice-management software (we use MyCase), Westlaw or LexisNexis, Microsoft Office, and PDF tools.
- Discretion with confidential client and company information and sound judgment.
- Understands that the paralegal works under attorney supervision and does not give legal advice or set fees.
- Notary, or willing to become one (we cover the cost), and a valid driver's license for courthouse runs. Background check required. Why work here
- We are a new firm in town and growing fast, which means real room to grow as our clients grow, the firm grows, and we expand into new markets.
- You will work directly with an experienced attorney and owner who has spent years developing lawyers and legal team members in house and is genuinely committed to your growth.
- Substantive work, direct attorney access, and real responsibility from the start.
- A great location, a genuinely good atmosphere, and interesting clients and work.
- An engaged firm that is active in the community through involvement and outreach.
