Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our legal team. This role provides essential support across for a law firm in the areas of Criminal Defense and Injury Law. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with drafting legal pleadings, requesting medical records, preparing medical summaries, and corresponding with clients. extensive legal research experience, and proficiency with legal case management systems. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic law office environment, contributing to case preparation, document review, and administrative support to ensure efficient legal operations. Responsibilities Assist attorneys with document drafting, proofreading, and editing for accuracy and clarity. Review and organize case files, contracts, pleadings, and discovery materials. Prepare and file legal documents with courts. Support litigation processes through document review and case organization. Request Medical Treatment Records. Conduct client interviews and gather relevant information for case development. Provide administrative support including filing, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to firm policies and procedures. Assist with project management tasks related to ongoing cases or practice area initiatives. Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients, vendors, or court personnel. Experience Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience in a law office setting is preferred. Familiarity the practice areas of Criminal Defense and Plaintiff Injury Law. Strong research skills utilizing online legal research platforms. Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence. Experience with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading, transcription, and organizational duties. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Effective communication skills along with professional phone etiquette are essential for success in this role. This position is integral to supporting our attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services while ensuring smooth office operations for our diverse client base.
